We think social media is neutral and forget that it is highly biased and it has an agenda of its own. This decreases the potential of a so called „social“  network as an infinite playground that allows us to connect and share informations worldwide.

Can we allow an algorithm, a computer program designed by men, to decide on our interests to influence our habits and even to shape our opinions - to keep us online?

It is all about the so called „Filter Bubble“, a whimsical name for a phenomenon that could have far-reaching and dangerous implications on today‘s society and on ourselves.

PRESERVING LAST WILDERNESS IN THE AnTHrOPOCENE

Left as living museums of unhampered evolution, wilderness areas can be touchstones to ways of knowing and relating to the world that shaped us as a species. It is scientifically highly relevant to prevent this wild and pristine areas from extinction to preserve this diverse gen pools for further research and next generations.

The Anthropocene, the age of human activities creates big difficulties in the goal of preserving the last existing wilderness areas. The immense human impacts on the world like synthetic environments, designed ecosystems and planned extinction are now integral to the world formerly known as natural.

To ensure the survival of these areas, human influences need to be alienated and reduced to a minimum.

One important consideration is whether last wild areas can be left alone or some sort of active human curation is always needed to sustain them.

Wilderness is once both a landscape condition and a human-nature relationship. Both are legacies we should preserve for future generations.

FOOD AS MEDICATON / MEDICATION AS FOOD

Its evidence is supported by many studies but we often neglect it: Preventive health care imporves life quality. What we do in our daily lives, our habits, our rituals, they have a great impact on how healthy we are and how good we feel. By designing and proposing new  habits, we raise awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle within the daily routines.

The pharmacy of today is made for responding the needs of ill people, who expect a quick remedy to their health problems in the shape of a pill. This practice is also enforced by our today‘s healthcare system and  big-pharma industries.

Our imaginative future healthcare paradigm rejects this practice and proposes a wholistic approach by promoting prevention and healthy routines.

City governments, researchers as well as environmental activists cooperate on recreating new structures for a more biodiverse city. Not only pollinators are essential for a healthy microclimate in the city but also for a rich harvest. The idea of using species as bio-indicators in the city is already proven and brings new perspectives in understanding the complexity of urban systems.

The idea is to invite the citizen to share space with other species and to motivate them to provide the species a simple housing including food and shelter.
